Portfolio Management Team
The Portfolio Management and Research team is a specialist function based in Edinburgh and London, housed within the Investments team and reporting to the Chief Investment Officer. The team manages over 50 client mandates end-to-end - from initial portfolio construction and capital allocation through to investment monitoring, client reporting, and mandate wind-down. Alongside core mandate management, the team plays a growing role in data and analytics, research and thought leadership, and strategic initiatives including new product development and technology-driven process improvement.
The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Edinburgh team for an ambitious analyst to join Patria GPMS at an exciting phase of growth and expansion. Reporting to the Co-Head of Portfolio Management, the successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the Portfolio Management team across a wide range of analytical, modelling, and reporting workstreams, working closely with the Investment and Operations teams. The role spans portfolio monitoring and client reporting, with scope to get involved in data and process improvement work over time. We are looking for someone who is numerate, curious, and keen to develop – full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting
• Assist in preparing quarterly client reporting packs, presentations, and responses to ad hoc investor queries.
• Support the maintenance of investment models covering cashflow forecasting and projected returns across mandates managed by the team.
• Prepare portfolio construction models, mandate overview documentation, and allocation committee materials.
• Contribute to macro and private equity market commentary to support investment insights and client communication, helping to translate data and analysis into clear, accessible narrative.
• Support on strategic projects such as investment analytics, secondary sales and technology implementations.
Data, Technology & Process
• Help maintain the accuracy and integrity of portfolio data across internal systems and reporting tools.
• Support process improvement initiatives and, over time, contribute ideas for automating or streamlining workflows.
Teamwork & Wider Support
• Work alongside the Investment and Operations teams on day-to-day mandate management and ad hoc projects.
• Support internal and external stakeholders across a range of ongoing projects.
• Manage your own workload sensibly, keeping the team informed and asking for guidance when needed.
The Candidate
We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate some or all of the following:
• Any prior exposure to finance, data analysis, or a quantitative environment is a plus – whether through work experience, internships, or self-directed learning such as certifications or courses (e.g. CFA, financial modelling, data science).
• Familiarity with private equity or private markets is beneficial but not required.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of PowerBI and / or PowerQuery is a bonus.
• Numerate and detail-oriented – you take care with your work and flag errors when you spot them.
• Well-organised and able to manage your time effectively, especially when juggling more than one task.
• A team player who is comfortable working with colleagues across different functions.
• Eager to learn and grow – you ask questions, take on feedback, and look for ways to improve.
• An interest in how things can be done better – whether that means a smarter spreadsheet, a cleaner process, or a new tool.
