Position Description
We are seeking a highly strategic and operationally excellent Head of Funds Administration to lead our fund management operations in Medellín, Colombia. This role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency of our diverse portfolio of funds and trusts.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial leader with an engineering background, capable of managing a team of nine professionals while driving digital optimization and automation across all fund processes.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Structuring & Strategy: Actively participate in the design and structuring of new Funds and Trusts, ensuring full alignment with local regulations and fiduciary standards.
Financial Integrity & Compliance: Define and implement accounting policies based on current Colombian regulations; ensure that Financial Statements (EEFF) accurately reflect the economic reality of operations and comply with Fund bylaws and regulatory requirements.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the funds, including invoicing, payments, treasury management, and the coordination of all corresponding accounting records.
Stakeholder Management: Lead and coordinate relationships with local banks, internal/external auditors, statutory auditors (Revisoría Fiscal), and investors.
Regulatory & Rating Compliance: Manage information requests from Rating Agencies regarding the daily management and performance of the Funds.
Digital Transformation & Automation: Develop and implement digital optimizations and automations (utilizing AI, Power BI, and advanced data tools) to reduce operational risk and increase the efficiency of fund administration.
Leadership & Development: Guide and mentor a team of 9 professionals in Medellín, supporting their technical decision-making and fostering their professional growth.
Candidate Profile
Degree in Administrative Engineering (Ingeniería Administrativa), Business Administration, or related fields. A specialization in Finance or Financial Planning is highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial functions, specifically within fund administration, financial planning, or treasury operations.
Deep understanding of fund operations (billing, accounting, liquidity management, and treasury).Proven experience in financial statement control and regulatory reporting.Advanced proficiency in Database Management (Excel, Power BI, Access).
Knowledge of AI applications and digital optimization for financial processes.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities, strategic decision-making, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
