Summary
Responsible for leading the legal and regulatory of the sanitation concessionaire, acting strategically, closely to the business and in direct interface with senior management. Fundamental to ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, supporting structuring decisions, guiding negotiations with public entities and regulatory agencies, and ensuring the integrity of concession contracts. With a broad and multifunctional role, the position requires a strong practical vision, autonomy, and the ability to translate legal complexity into objective solutions for the operation.
This position will be based in our Office in Petrolina, PE, Brazil in an full in person work model.
Responsibilities
Manage and interpret concession agreements, regulatory matters, and institutional relationships with granting authorities, regulatory agencies, and oversight bodies.
Handle a broad range of contracts, strategic litigation, corporate matters, and compliance, with strong prioritization and integrated business vision.
Actively participate in matters such as economic–financial rebalancing, tariff reviews, regulatory claims, and contingency management.
Structure and monitor legal and regulatory risks with a focus on value creation and preparation for divestment processes.
Work collaboratively with finance, risk, engineering, and operations teams, as well as with external advisors, auditors, and consultants.
Represent the company in interactions with authorities, regulatory entities, public stakeholders, and institutional partners.
Requirements
A professional with solid experience in Administrative Law and regulated sectors—especially concessions, PPPs, utilities, and ideally sanitation. Strong background in contracts, strategic litigation, corporate law, and compliance, with the ability to prioritize and maintain an integrated business perspective.
Able to translate legal and regulatory risks into financial, operational, and valuation impacts, supporting management and fund-level decisions. Skilled in structuring and monitoring risks with a focus on value creation and preparation for divestment processes.
Demonstrates strong relationship, communication, and negotiation skills with regulators, investors, and strategic partners. Shows leadership across multiple legal, regulatory, and compliance fronts in highly regulated and politically sensitive environments, with an entrepreneurial, practical, and results-driven mindset.
Hands-on profile, comfortable in contexts of transformation, growth, and divestment readiness. Advanced English required.
Able to work on-site from Petrolina, PE.
